Bidens Pilosa Herbal Tincture Extract FRESH

Made with fresh wild harvested Bidens Pilosa leaves, flowers, stems and roots, grain alcohol. 

Bidens Pilosa , is most commonly known as shepherd's needles, beggarticks, Spanish needles or butterfly needles. Bidens means two- toothed, describing the two projections found at the top of the seeds.

The Bidens Pilosa native to Florida and which I use for this tincture also has the synonym Bidens Alba which refers to the white ray florets.

The entire plant is medicinally active, including the roots. A lot of scientific studies have been done on the constituents of Bidens, identifying around 100 different plant chemicals so far. The most promising are the flavonoids, and the poly-acetylene compounds, having the broadest anti-microbial activity.

Some studies indicate that this plant can be used as a remedy for cuts, swelling, hypertension, jaundice, and diabetes. Bidens is a natural antibiotic which helps treat antibiotic resistant bacteria (like MRSA etc). Bidens are also recommended as a mucus membrane tonic. It not only helps to remove the pain but also helps to heal the tissue. Bidens increases the efficiency of the kidneys to excrete uric acid from the blood, decreasing the likelihood of a gout attack. It also acts as a tonic and preventive in gastritis and ulcers, diarrhea and ulcerative colitis. 

Because it is a mucus membrane tonic and is astringent, powerfully anti-inflammatory, and strongly antibacterial, it is helpful and specific for a number of diseases caused by resistant pathogens: UTIs, chronic diarrhea and dysentery, lyme disease, gastritis and ulcers (anywhere in the GI tract, from mouth to anus), inflamed mucous membranes in colds and flu and respiratory infections of any sort, sore throats from coughs or infection or even overuse of the throat, and vaginal infections (As Mentioned in the reference materials: Stephen Buhner’s Herbal Antibiotics).

Suggested Use:

Shake Well Before Using
